As a youth growing up I’ve seen and been through a lot and this has made me respect other people in their struggle and also respect youths who are motivated to do well. From what I’ve been through I’ve learnt a lot and believe you can turn negative to positive it’s just up to you. Most of the youth will follow but what they see would most likely be the wrong thing to follow, so as I stopped following the world and those around me I became a leader and me knowing what is right from wrong helped me manage to get on the right path through my own leadership.

When I look at society nowadays I believe a gulf has been formed between the older and younger generations. In my opinion no one side is solely to be blamed but I feel the only way for the gulf to be bridged is to start up a dialogue between the two generations. As a young man myself I have come to realise the importance of learning from the experiences of people who have come before; this learning experience isn’t a 1-way street and often times I impart some knowledge into the older person I’m seeking counsel from. For me, I see it as a duty to pass on whatever experiences/knowledge I have onto people younger than me so that they can benefit from it. The young people are the future and they can only achieve their potential if we show them the way.

  1. I think that its so important to get the youth actually involved in platforms such as this, as the problem with most schemes/community organisations and bodies is that its all about numbers and not actually the people. To get the youth you have to listen and get them involved thats why i think that MIGHTY is an amazing organisation.

  2. I want to know what are your views on Children, Adults that have been rejected by their parents. In all aspects whether through disfunction families, no father no mother, abandonment through the social system and as people we tend to have to raise ourselves.. Look forward to hearing about this.

  3. I think as a teenager growing up in london, the only things for me personally to do in my spare time is to go on the street. i thought maybe if there were a few activites i could do in my area that could keep me off the street, that would be a more positive way to use my spare time. So if a simple thing such as activites could be brought in for young people and manage to get one of the streets, imagine how many young people would come off the streets

  4. This is so true how many young people end up on the streets as there is nothing going on. On the streets leads to trouble most of the time..underage drinking, smoking, the Devil makes work for idle thumbs!!!
